Richard Romero - CEO, Pipeline Consultant For OPS Richard Romero is the President of Optimized Pipeline Solutions, LLC (OPS), which provides consulting services in pipeline and plant operations, regulatory compliance and due diligence. He has over 18 years experience in the operation and management of pipeline and plant facilities. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering in 1990 from Texas Tech University. His skills include maximizing profitability of facilities, development and management of regulatory compliance programs, due diligence evaluations of facilities and engineering /project management services.

Prior to joining OPS, Richard was an Area Sales Manager for DuPont Performance Elastomers. This role provided Richard with a strong background in commercial sales, contract negotiations and international relations (Mexico). Richard has worked in several roles during his career with titles ranging from Process Engineer (Mobil Oil) to Plant Manager (Barretts Minerals). He is experienced in project management, vessel inspection, writing code for PLC’s, commissioning plant equipment and pipelines, creating SOP’s for the safe start-up, operation and shut-down of plant equipment and pipelines, hiring and training a staff to operate a facility, Management of Change protocol, HAZOP reviews, ISO certification, establishing PPM programs, budget cycles and contract negotiation.

Richard began his career as a Process Engineer for Mobil Oil at its Beaumont, Texas Refinery and was responsible for the operation of the power plant, sulfur recovery and amine units. He then assumed increasingly responsible positions with Dow Chemical, Air Liquide, Barretts Minerals and DuPont Performance Elastomers. Richard has participated in several grass roots start-ups of chemical plant facilities which have given him a vast range of experience in plant operations. Richard is experienced in the operation, facility compliance, engineering and management of all aspects of processing plants and gas and liquid pipelines.

Richard is an active member of the Gas Processors Association and an alumni of Texas Tech University.
